Fine / Small Motor

Children 12-18 months generally are able to do the following:

  • Turns over a container to pour out contents
  • Uses pincer grasp to pull strings or pick up small pieces of food
  • Helps to turn pages of a sturdy paper book
  • Stacks 3 or more blocks 
  • Tears paper 
  • Picks up two objects in one hand 
  • Holds marker or crayon in fist and scribbles
