Adaptive

Children 19-24 months generally are able to do the following:

  • Puts shoes on with help 
  • Opens doors by pulling on a door handle
  • Starts to drink from an open cup with some spilling 
  • Pierces food with fork 
  • Brushes teeth with help 
  • Follows simple safety directives (e.g., “no”, ‘stop”) 
  • Eats a variety of different textured foods 
  • Participates in bed time, nap, and toileting routines 
  • Delights in taking clothing off at appropriate or inappropriate times
