Gross / Large Motor
Children 19-24 months generally are able to do the following:
- Walks towards a stationary ball and kicks it
- Climbs onto and down from furniture unsupported
- Walks up and down stairs with support while putting both feet on each step
- Runs easily without falling or bumping into things
- Jumps with two feet leaving floor at same time
- Extends body in order to reach object (e.g., extending arms over head, or using tiptoes)
- Marches using high knees
- Sidesteps across beam or sandbox edge
