Children 19-24 months generally are able to do the following:
- Begins to sort shapes and colors
- Tries to fit objects into other objects (e.g., fits together cups or bowls, completes simple puzzles, puts rocks into holes)
- Follows in, out, up, down directions
- Points to or gives the larger of two items when asked
- Gives one item/object when requested (e.g., “can I have a Goldfish?”)
- Uses some number words in addition to naming age (e.g., 2 birds, 1 chair)
