Gross / Large Motor

Children 24-30 months generally are able to do the following:

  • Begins to use tot-sized playground such as small slides, simple ladders, wiggle bridges, etc
  • Swings leg to kick stationary ball 
  • Runs 
  • Bends over without falling 
  • Jumps forward at least 3 inches using both feet 
  • Catches a large ball (6-8 inches) by using outstretched arms and trapping ball to body
  • Walks up and down stairs, alternating feet with support 
  • Jumps in place with two feet together
