Literacy

Children 24-30 months generally are able to do the following:

• Joins in songs and rhymes
• Retrieves a familiar book and gives it to a caregiver when asked 
• Differentiates between types of books (e.g., find and seek vs. story)
• Identifies and matches a physical object to a picture in book
• Focuses and listens to stories in a whole group for approximately 3 minutes
