Gross / Large Motor

Children 3-8 months generally are able to do the following:

Gross Motor:

  • Pushes up on extended arms while on stomach  
  • Supports own head while being assisted into sitting position without head lag
  • Sits with support 
  • Pushes down on legs when feet are placed on firm surfaces 
  • Rolls purposely from back to stomach and stomach to back (e.g., towards a toy or caregiver)  
  • Plays by grabbing own feet
