Adaptive

Children 36-42 months generally are able to do the following:

  • Takes care of some personal needs by themselves like pulling pants down, indicating toileting needs, washing hands and using a towel to dry, eating with a spoon and fork, and drinking from an open cup 
  • Wipes their nose with assistance 
  • Unbuttons and buttons large buttons
  • begins to manipulate a zipper
  • Shows pride in doing things independently
  • Follows and remembers 1-2 safety rules across environments (e.g., avoids touching hot objects like the stove when you’ve warned them)
