Gross / Large Motor
Children 36-42 months generally are able to do the following:
- Throws and kick a ball forward
- Catches a ball by trapping (e.g., arms up together)
- Jumps with 2 feet together leaving the floor moving forward
- Pedals a tricycle and pull things in a wagon
- Climbs on simple playground equipment
- Runs avoiding obstacles
- Imitates standing on one foot for 3 seconds
- Imitates simple bilateral movements of limbs (e.g., Arms up together)
- Walks up stairs alternating feet and down stairs placing both feet on each step without support
