Math

Children 36-42 months generally are able to do the following:

  • Verbally counts to 3 consistently
  • Counts 3 or more objects
  • Recognizes and name up to 3 numbers
  • Identifies at least 3 colors
  • Identifies basic shapes (circle, square, triangle)
  • Sorts by a single characteristic (e.g. put all the red blocks together). 
  • Uses prepositions to describe the position of objects in space
  • Makes simple comparisons between two objects
