Children 36-42 months generally are able to do the following:

• Notices other children and join them in play 
• Learns to cooperate and share with adult support 
• Likes to be silly and make others laugh
• Demonstrates concern about the feelings of others 
• Seeks out a special object or person when sad 
• Calms down within 10 minutes after leaving a caregiver (e.g., childcare drop off)
• Accepts redirection from adults
