Children 48-60 months generally are able to do the following:

  • Independently attends to a single self-selected activity for 15-20 minutes despite distraction and interruption
  • Sustains interest in participating in an activity with an adult, a small group, or whole group for at least 15-20 minutes
  • Is curious about trying new activities
  • Tries new skill in many environments
  • Adapts and adjusts to change of routine
  • Transitions smoothly from one activity to the next within daily routines
