Adaptive

Children 8-12  months generally are able to do the following:

  • Finger-feeds themselves 
  • Extends arm and leg to help when being dressed 
  • May hold a spoon when feeding
  • Responds to warning (hot, no) 
  • Eats from spoon, held by an adult and drinks from sippy cup independently 
  • Uses self-calming strategies to help sleep 
  • Holds up arms and kicks or pulls off socks
