Children 8-12  months generally are able to do the following:

  • Explores objects in many different ways (e.g., shaking, banging, throwing, dropping)
  • Finds hidden objects easily (e.g., object hidden by a blanket next to them)  
  • Explores dumping and filling, putting in and out 
  • Begins to understand the concept of “more” 
  • Puts items in a container
